Daffodils
Daffodils signal a new chapter in the seasons and our life.
I didn't realise daffodils were such a prolific crop in Cornwall until we lived here, but now the vivid fields of sunshine and radiant pops of colour along the road verge hold a special place in my heart.
They emerge just as the days are starting to get longer, a million yellow trumpets in spring's fanfare. And they remind me of being heavily pregnant, waiting excitedly for our boy to arrive, and of his first trips out into the world as a newborn. The signal of a new chapter in the seasons and our life π
